Assalamualaikum W.B.T,MPPUTP has noted that the phone coverage Maxis, Celcom and Digi for the past few months was bad at certain residential. Reports about this matter had been sent to the management of UTP so that they could look into the cause of this slowdown of coverage and take immediate action to fix the problem. Recently we had done a meeting with the UTP Management to clarify the root cause of the frustrating phone coverage in our campus.
Results of the meeting, we found out that the reason behind this huge problem is the construction of the Alpha Orange connection towers (3 huge steel towers) that was approved last semester and had been built recently are still not functioning. We had been informed that the contractors for the towers and the service providers for the phone network are from separate companies. Currently, the contractor for the towers still had not contacted Maxis, Celcom and Digi service provider to install their transmitter.
The problem faced by Celcom users is completely a different story. The line is okay for most of the areas in the campus except for V5 and the area near it. We were made to understand that it is because the geography of V5 itself making the line unreachable. For your information, Celcom already had a communication tower near the campus but the problem still occurs.
InsyaAllah, the problems will cease to exist after the new communication towers are fully up and running in a short time. We hope that all students are informed about this situation and we pray for the best for our campus society to use the accommodation provided in a good way.
